Zimbabwean Mark Hodges Directs Movie That Tops USA Box Office

How cool is it that one of the African stories of success and positivity which was breaking news that l came across sunday night was about someone l went to high school with???!!!!
l am still in AWE since l found out that Mark Tonderai Hodges is making a name for himself in the movie directing world in Los Angeles,California.From humble beginnings in Marondera ,Zimbabwe to directing a movie that topped the box office at $13 million in the USA alone this past weekend,Mark has to be pinching himself !!!.This is a newbie for a Zimbabwean and am proud that Mark is living his passion and is lifting both the British flag(his dad is British) and Zimbabwean flags HIGH!!!(his mother is Zimbabwean.)


House at the End of the Street’, based on a short story from Jonathan Mostow,is a horror/thriller which arrived in theatres with much anticipation and is Tonderai’s 2nd film after the psychological thriller, Hush, which was released in 2008.House” stars “Hunger Games” actress Jennifer Lawrence and centers on Elissa (Lawrence) and her mother Sarah (Elisabeth Shue), who move to a small, upscale town in search of a fresh start. But before they’ve even finished unpacking, Elissa and Sarah learn the horrifying secret behind the house next door. Years earlier, a daughter killed both of her parents in the night and disappeared, leaving only her brother Ryan (Max Thieriot) as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins developing a friendship with Ryan, who seems to be keeping a few secrets of his own.
