Skateboarding:Maloof money Cup in South Africa this weekend

The Maloof Money Cup returns to the Maloof Skate Plaza in Kimberley, South Africa this wekend for fun and adrenalin filled tricks and flips.The Maloof Money Cup Am Qualifiers consists of over 40 amateur skaters from all over South Africa. Kids from Kimberley, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, and cities all over the country tried to kill it hard enough to earn a spot in the MMC SA Am Championships.Zandisile Luphahla and most of the biggest names on the global skateboarding scene descended on South Africa in the final run-up to the world’s greatest skateboarding event, the 2012 Maloof Money Cup which is presented by Kumba Iron Ore.
The annual amateur and professional skateboarding event was founded by Joe and Gavin Maloof, whose family owns the Sacramento Kings NBA franchise and the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.Joe and Gavin’s mission was to create a new type of skate contest; from giving the skaters the reigns in designing the contest’s custom street courses and featuring the most diverse collection of skaters ever assembled for a contest; to working with cities to leave behind world class skate parks.American RnB music sensation Ciara is also in Mzanzi this weekend and will perform at the skating event on saturday..uumm fun times in the motherland!!!
