6 weeks ago l told yall about CNN Hero nominee Derreck Kayongo, a Uganda native, who started the Global Soap Project in 2009.(He is 2nd in the most popular posts on bantudaily.com!!)Then, i was just moved by watching his work on CNN and l am so besides myself right now that he has made the 2011 TOP 10 Heroes as his is a cause that genuinely touched and impressed me and am still in awe at the level of his selflessness.Much love and abundant blessings to my African brother from another mother!!!
Well from thousands of nominations,he made the the CNN 2011 Heroes finals which is down to 10 Heroes as revealed on CNN by Anderson Cooper yesterday and now Derrick needs our votes to win the 2011 award and you can vote at www.cnn.com/heroes and read more about his cause.
Each of the top 10 will receive a $50,000 grant and be honored at “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute,” a globally broadcast event that airs December 11 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
One of the top 10 will be voted CNN Hero of the Year by the public and receive an additional $250,000.
The live tribute show, hosted by Cooper at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, will culminate in the announcement of the CNN Hero of the Year.
